We have compiled a comprehensive list of answers to a list of typical questions that applicants ask regarding the St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment program.

  • Can my application be sponsored?
    No, our current Regulations no longer allows for this.
  • Who is eligible to apply for citizenship?
    Main Applicant A person applying as a main applicant under the St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme must: Be at least 18 years of age; Have made, or have agreed to make, a legally prescribed investment or contribution pursuant to the CBI Regulations; and Meet all CBI application requirements. Please note that any person who: Has been denied citizenship of any country; or Has been denied a visa to any country to which citizens of St Kitts and Nevis have visa-free travel, and has not subsequently obtained a visa to the country that issued the denial, will not be eligible to apply for Citizenship by Investment in St Kitts and Nevis. Eligible DependantsA main applicant may include the following family members as dependants in their application: The spouse of the main applicant; Children aged under 18; Children aged between 18 and 25 who are in full-time attendance at a recognised secondary or tertiary level institution of learning and fully supported by the main applicant; Children aged 18 or over who are physically or mentally challenged; and Parents of the main applicant or the spouse of the main applicant aged 65 or over, living with and fully supported by the main applicant.
  • Are you licensed to market the program?

  • Does citizenship extend to my family?
    Eligible DependantsA main applicant may include the following family members as dependants in their application: The spouse of the main applicant; Children aged under 18; Children aged between 18 and 25 who are in full-time attendance at a recognised secondary or tertiary level institution of learning and fully supported by the main applicant; Children aged 18 or over who are physically or mentally challenged; and Parents of the main applicant or the spouse of the main applicant aged 65 or over, living with and fully supported by the main applicant.
  • Who qualifies as a dependant?
    (a) a spouse of the main applicant; (b) a child aged under eighteen years old; (c) a child aged between eighteen and twenty five (25) years of age who is in full time attendance at a recognised institution of higher learning and fully supported by the main applicant; (d) parents or grandparents of the main applicant aged sixty-five years or older living with and fully supported by the main applicant; (e) parents or grandparents of the spouse of the main applicant aged fifty- five years (55) or older living with and fully supported by the main applicant; (f) a child aged eighteen years or older and physically or mentally challenged; or (g) a brother or sister of the main applicant or his or her spouse, who is— (i) unmarried; (ii) childless; (iii) twenty-five years of age or younger; and (iv) is dependent on the main applicant or his or her spouse for financial support
  • Will I be liable to any taxes in St. Kitts & Nevis?
    There is no wealth, gift, inheritance, foreign income, or capital gains tax in St. Kitts & Nevis. There is also no personal income tax. However, corporate income tax does apply to persons who conduct business here. There is also 17% Value Added Tax applicable on certain goods and services.
  • Can I submit the application to the citizenship by investment unit myself?
    No. You must submit your application through an Authorised Agent.
  • How long does the application take?
    From submission of the application to an approval in principle, applicants are generally expected to wait 120 days.
  • Is the application process confidential?
    The application process itself is confidential, except where necessary checks are carried out by authorised due diligence agencies and international partners. Your Government is never informed of your application.
  • Do I have to attend an interview?
    Every main applicant in process shall attend an interview conducted by an independent professional firm commissioned by the Unit to perform background due diligence checks or by officials of the Unit, either: (i) virtually; (ii) in person in St Kitts and Nevis; or (iiD in person at such other location approved by the Board ofGovernors;
  • Do I have to travel to st. Kitts & Nevis?
    No, you don’t have to travel to St. Kitts & Nevis as part of the application process. However, we always encourage you to visit our beautiful country and take advantage of the leisure and business opportunities.
  • Can I submit my application in any language?
    You must submit your application in English. Certified translation of all foreign language documents must be presented.
  • Does St. Kitts & Nevis recognise dual citizenship?
    Yes, the laws of St. Kitts & Nevis recognise and allow dual citizenship and you are not required to renounce your other citizenships. You are not required to reside in St. Kitts & Nevis to keep your citizenship status.
  • Where can I travel to on my St. Kitts & Nevis passport without obtaining a visa in advance?

  • For how many years is a St. Kitts & Nevis passport valid?
    St. Kitts & Nevis passports are generally valid for up to 10 years. Passports for children under 16 years old are issued for 5 years. We offer a fully remote renewal services at the appropriate time. You do not need to visit.
  • Can I pay with crypto currency?
    The government does not permit the use of Bitcoin or other form of crypto currencies as a means of payment for their Citizenship-by-Investment program. You are however able to evidence crypto wallet showing an amount equivalent to the investment amount as, evidence of proof of funds.
  • Which nationalities are NOT accepted for St. Kitts-Nevis passport?
    In July 2013, St Kitts and Nevis suspended all Iranian nationals and all Afghani nationals, with immediate effect, from participation in the Programme "regardless of their countries of residence." The same happened for North Korean nationals in June 2017. Effective March 2022, St. Kitts-Nevis has implemented a pause on citizenship application files from all applicants from Russia and Belarus Irrespective of whether or not they are on the sanctioned list. Effective July 2023 the processing of new applications for citizens of Iraq is immediately suspended.
